Our Vision Statement
The primary use of the Vision Statement is to capture the essence of our Calling in a simple and clear statement of who we are and who we seek to be. The Vision we have received is:
Strengthening God’s Family through the life giving Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision’s Underlying Beliefs
Our Vision’s underlying beliefs are meant to express our basic understanding of why God has led us to embrace Strengthening God’s Family as our central focus.
  1. God’s Word and history clearly show that we cannot live by bread alone.
  2. Deep inside we all know that what satisfies the souls of people is a strong personal relationship with God and supportive personal relationships.
  3. Strengthening God’s Family forms the very foundation of a healthy society.
Mission Statement
Our Mission Statements describes who we are, what we’re like, and what we do:
Christ Lutheran Vail is a community of followers of Jesus Christ, committed to live by faith, to be known by love, and to be a voice of hope.  We welcome people from all walks of life, wherever they are in their spiritual journey.

Our Pillars
We see Our Pillars as essential “supports” to our Vision and Mission and as a reflection of what we would want people to conclude from having been in our presence.
  1. A Christ centered place of worship, healing, and spiritual growth
  2. A community that actively demonstrates God’s love
  3. A congregation that boldly steps out in faith
  4. A people who build authentic relationships
  5. A family who values interactions across all generations
  6. A Church who builds strength on the inside for service on the outside
Guiding Principles
These are intended to be a point of unity for us.  Perspectives on how to apply them will vary and we see that as a good thing that produces wiser decisions and better outcomes.
  1. OUR HIGH CALLING TO SERVE:  First and foremost, we are servants of Jesus Christ committed to the high calling of strengthening God’s Family.
  2. REVERENCE:  To understand the sacred nature of our work and to recognize   and encourage the good and the gifts in each other.
  3. COMMUNITY:  To develop our outreach around the capacities of our Church Family and unmet community needs.  For us, it’s “reach out or rust out.”
  4. STEWARDSHIP:  To be good stewards of our Vision and assets entrusted to us.
  5. EXCELLENCE:  “Our utmost for His highest.”
  6. IMAGINATION:  Opening our minds to embrace God’s ideas.
  7. BALANCE:  Allowing our Church and our homes to be places where our souls can breathe and live.  Embracing God’s pacing.
  8. CHANGED LIVES:  Only God can count the fruit that will grow from the seeds we plant with His help.
“In essentials, unity; in non essentials, liberty; in all things love” --St. Augustine
